General & Thoracic Surgery

The Department of General & Thoracic Surgery is concerned with the evaluation and treatment of the following disorders in patients of all ages, children to adult:

  • Breast disease
  • Thyroid disease
  • Salivary gland disease
  • Diseases of the abdominal organs, including all endocrine and GI organs
  • Scalp lesions
  • Ingrown toenails
  • Benign and malignant growths from skin or soft tissue
  • Heartburn
  • Gallbladder disease
  • Hemorrhoids
  • Hernias
  • Minimally invasive/laparoscopic surgery
  • Pediatric Surgery

Thoracic Surgery is concerned with the evaluation and treatment of adults with the following disorders:

  •    Diseases of the lung including cancers, nodules, and pulmonary fibrosis
  •    Diseases of the mediastinum including thymic lesions and lymphadenopathy
  •    Diseases of the pleura including cancers, effusions and pneumothorax
  •    Diseases of the chest wall
  •    Diseases of the esophagus including cancers, dismotility disorders, and GERD
  •    Other ailments including thoracic outlet syndrome and axillary/palmer hyperhidrosis
