The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department of Lakeview Medical Center focuses on restoring the health and functional abilities of people after an acute illness or injury.  Physicians who specialize in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation are called Physiatrists.

We offer the following services:

• EMG’s-appointments available within 1 week, results within 48 hours
• Management of functional decline-due to neurological, cardiac, cancer or pulmonary disease process
• Post  stroke care-PT/OT management, adaptive equipment and wheelchair seating evaluations and contracture management
• Treatment of non-operative injuries or conditions stemming from work, sports, traumatic brain or spinal cord injuries
• Treatment for Carpal Tunnel  Syndrome, Arthritis, DJD, DDD, Osteoporosis, acute or chronic neck, back and joint pain.

Dr. Saveika is available to see inpatients at Sentara Obici Hospital, Southampton Memorial Hospital and residents of Nansemond Pointe Rehabilitation for any of the above conditions. Dr. Saveika offers physiatry care for children starting at age 5 and up.
