Edilberto Pelausa, M.D., FACS, FRCSC, FAAOA

A graduate of prestigious McGill College in Canada, Dr. Ed Pelausa received his medical degree (M.D.) from the University of Montreal and his specialty training in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery from the University of Toronto – considered the best ENT program in Canada and one of the best in North America. Dr. Pelausa is board-certified by both the the American Board of Otolaryngology (ABO) and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC). He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.), the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (F.R.C.S.C.), and the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy (F.A.A.O.A.). He has 20 years of clinical/surgical experience as an ENT specialist.

Dr. Pelausa served with the Canadian Forces in Europe (Germany) and received the NATO medal. After specialization in Otolaryngology, he served as Chief of Otolaryngology and Deputy Chief of Surgery at the National Defence Medical Center in Canada’s capital, Ottawa. He was an Assistant Professor with the Department of Otolaryngology, University of Ottawa and also at Dalhousie University, Halifax – he was active in Residency training. He also served as a Flight Surgeon for the Canadian Air Force. He retired after 20 years of military service with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel and was awarded the CD (Canada Decoration) medal. He also received the Honor Citation from the Canadian Society of Otolaryngology.

Dr. Pelausa relocated to the USA in 1997 and received American Citizenship in 2001. He is proud of his Filipino Heritage and Roman Catholic Faith. He lives in Suffolk, VA - a family man with 3 sons.

Since 1999, Dr. Pelausa has been a Clinical Assistant Professor of the Department of Otolaryngology of Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS). He became a Partner at Lakeview Medical Center in 2001.
